Ticket Agents

Overview:

Ticket Agents shall assist individuals contacting or visiting BR&W Railroad with superior customer service. They shall also represent BR&W Railroad to guests at all BR&W stations.

Job Duties:
- Ensure that assigned customer inquiries receive prompt, professional responses. This includes, but is not limited to, telephone calls, messages, emails, and inquiries in person at BR&W stations.
- Adhere to BR&W standards for Ticket Agent staff, including but not limited to dress code/appearance, call/email/message handling procedures, ticket sales procedures, and station/platform maintenance duties.
- Open BR&W stations for business.
- Operate Point of Sale devices.
- Be knowledgeable about BR&W trains and services, as well as the BRRHT.
- Handle cash, adhering to all procedures the Customer Service Manager and Treasurer set forth.
- Sell tickets and merchandise.
- Maintain the assigned station and surrounding area(s) neatly and orderly. This includes emptying trash cans, sweeping floors, dusting, arranging, and restocking merchandise.
- Minor cleaning/tidying of restrooms.
- Patrolling outdoor platform areas for trash.
- Escalate appropriate issues or inquiries to the Customer Service Manager.
- Must have reliable transportation.

Easter Bunny Mascot

Overview:

The Easter Bunny is a seasonal team member who assists us during approximately March and April during the Easter Bunny Express trains. This is a non-speaking role.

- Must be 18 years old or older (minimum age requirement).
- Must be a dependable, outgoing, flexible, and enthusiastic team player.
- Must be available all or most weekends of Easter Bunny Express operation.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Comfortable greeting and working with families with young children.
- Comfortable posing in photographs.
- Express emotions nonverbally, such as through hand movements.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from Flemington and Ringoes, NJ.
- Maintain cleanliness of the backstage area, including the costume and break area.
- Pass out candy/eggs to guests.
- Comfortable wearing costume for extended periods.
- Comfortable working onboard a historic, moving train.
- Remain in character during all “on stage” time.

Photo Booth Agent

Overview:

The Photo Booth Agent will work at our Ringoes Station, assisting North Pole Express guests in operating the photo booth efficiently while ensuring the line continues steadily. The agent will also represent BR&W Railroad to guests.

- Adhere to BR&W standards for Ticket Agent staff, including but not limited to dress code/appearance and station/platform maintenance duties.
- Manage photo booth, including basic troubleshooting software.
- Greet guests upon their entry and create a lively atmosphere themed around the Christmas holiday.
- Optimize basic lighting for picture-perfect photographs.
- Clean designated areas throughout assigned shifts.
- Sell merchandise.
- Manage the prop table in an organized fashion.
- Escalate appropriate issues or inquiries to the Customer Service Manager.
- Be knowledgeable about North Pole Express.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from Ringoes, NJ.

Story Presenter

Overview:

The Story Presenter will work on board the North Pole Express train and read a story to guests. They will also represent BR&W Railroad to guests.

- Adhere to BR&W standards for Ticket Agent staff, including but not limited to dress code/appearance and station/platform maintenance duties.
- Work on board an authentic, moving train.
- Ability to read a short Christmas-themed story out loud to guests in an entertaining manner within a specific timeframe.
- Operate/maintain/charge a voice amplifier (portable speaker with headset).
- Clean and maintain an orderly workstation.
- Work with train crew members and Santa/Mrs. Claus.
- When time allows, assist with stocking/preparation duties of candy canes and silver bells.
- Escalate appropriate issues or inquiries to the Customer Service Manager.
- Be knowledgeable about North Pole Express.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from Flemington, NJ.

On-Board Food Server

Overview:

The On-Board Food Server will work on board the North Pole Express train, serving snacks and beverages to guests and performing other standard restaurant server duties. They will also represent BR&W Railroad to guests.

- Adhere to BR&W standards for Ticket Agent staff, including but not limited to dress code/appearance and station/platform maintenance duties.
- Greet guests upon their entry, seat them, and create a lively atmosphere themed around the Christmas holiday.
- Serve non-alcoholic drinks and snacks to guests.
- Clean and sanitize tables upon guests finishing their plates.
- Answer questions regarding the menu.
- Manage 8 tables of up to 4 guests each per ride.
- Keep the dining area and behind the bar clean and in an orderly fashion.
- Ensure all areas are cleaned as per state regulations.
- Escalate appropriate issues or inquiries to the Customer Service Manager.
- Be knowledgeable about North Pole Express.
